Melanie Bison is an author and holds a PhD and a MS in Addiction Psychology. She has been in the helping profession for over 20 years and holds numerous licensure and certifications in mental health and addictive behaviors. She has certifications in CISD, problem gambling, domestic violence, and sexual addictive behaviors. She focuses on dealing with co occurring disorders (mental health and addictions) and believes in holistic wellness. Although specializing in the field of co-occurring disorders, her passion is advocacy and creating a climate of positive change for children and indigenous people today. She has worked in many capacities with the Native community providing consulting, therapeutic interventions, and cultural integration. She has served on many boards throughout the years with the most recent being the historical collaborative efforts of a Native Hawaiian governmental system.

Dr. Bison is a writer and will be releasing her new book, RISE, The 5 Hidden Principles of Practical Solutions for Everyday Living.
