Licensed Professional Counselor
OFFLINE |
As a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of New Jersey, I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples and families. I specialize in grief and loss, co-occurring and substance use disorders, trauma, personality disorders, and mood disorders.
My behavioral work experience started in 1989 as a Child Supervisor for Cape May County Youth Services Shelter, and by May of 1990, I embarked on my 25-year career working on the inpatient psychiatric unit for the Atlantic City Medical Center. In that time, I have had direct work experience in virtually every continuum of behavioral health services, including inpatient, crisis, outpatient, partial care, supported employment, and mental health intensive outpatient. In addition, I have experience in both clinical and supervisory roles and have worked with diverse populations. I believe the foundation of my approach is client-centered care, believing that through therapeutic rapport, change is possible. This foundation has allowed me to draw from many disciplines including CBT, mindfulness, and skill-building areas, such as communication and boundary setting to decision making skills. I have been practicing yoga since 2000 and became a Kripalu-Certified Yoga Teacher in 2006, which opened up the real possibility of encouraging yoga and teaching breath work has a means to help manage moods, sleep disturbance, and stress and reactivity . I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples and families. I specialize in grief and loss, co-occurring and substance use disorders, trauma, personality disorders, and mood disorders. |
