As therapists ourselves, we know how difficult it can be to introduce new technologies into our practices while still trying to maintain complete privacy for our clients. That’s why we developed the Virtual Therapy Connect platform, from the ground up with total security in mind. We didn’t want just another application for video teleconferencing and online communicating, we wanted a tool that was easy for you to use-one that was HIPAA and HITECH compliant and didn’t put your clients or your practice at risk!

Here are some of the ways Virtual Therapy Connect was designed to support the privacy and security needs of the Therapist-Client relationship:

  • SSL encryption across our entire site
  • Password protected with passwords that meet the Microsoft strong password guidelines
  • Password protected and encrypted client-therapist email system
  • End to end encrypted video teleconferencing and real-time text chat sessions using the proprietary VTConnect App
  • All Protected Health Information (PHI) that is stored on our database servers is secured using proven industry standards for data protection
  • Routine automatic backups and periodic manual backups that comply with HIPAA guidelines for data storage and security
  • Processes for monitoring and auditing our network to insure HIPAA Security Standards are met
  • We sign a Business Associate Agreements (BAA) with all of our Practitioners - making us not you legally liable for compliance

Please be aware that Virtual Therapy Connect is not a crisis center, and if you are in need of immediate help please call your local crisis center, dial 911, or present to the nearest emergency room.  If you are having suicidal thoughts and live in the US you can also call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-784-2433.
