WHAT CLIENTS SAY
Made my move easier
I got my dream job in another city requiring a move. I didn’t want to begin looking for a new therapist. It took me so long to find Meg and I couldn’t imagine starting over. With Virtual Therapy Connect Meg and I can still meet for sessions. It’s easy to use and just like meeting her in the office.
Helping the homebound
Thanks Virtual Therapy Connect for making it possible for my homebound father to continue sessions with his favorite practitioner. The iPad app is so easy for him to use on his own.
Getting support at college
Moving to college has been a tough transition. It’s great to continue visiting with my therapist, Gary, without having to drive the 2 hours back home.
Your Questions Answered
Is online therapy effective?
Yes! Online therapy can be just as effective as seeing a clinician in person. All the benefits of therapy that you receive when meeting face to face can also be received in a virtual setting. For instance, think about talking to friends using FaceTime or Skype – the personal connection is just as meaningful, right? It works the same way with virtual therapy and the connection with your therapist is really the driving force behind effective therapy.
What does this cost?
It’s FREE to create a Virtual Therapy Connect client account. The actual cost for a virtual treatment session will vary by provider, as each therapist operates their own practice and determines their own rates. You can easily view the rates and insurances accepted for most of our providers by viewing their full profile in the therapist directory. If this information is not included in the profile of a therapist that you are interested in connecting with, simply send the therapist a private message to request their rates and insurances accepted prior to scheduling a session.
Are the therapists’ qualifications verified?
Yes, we partner with Info Cubic, a third-party ISO Certified, NAPBS Accredited and Customer Service award winning background screening company to perform license verifications and background checks on all the therapists when they join our directory. As a result, you can be confident that all Virtual Therapy Connect practitioners are legitimate, highly qualified and ready to assist you!
How do I select a therapist?
The key to successful therapy is rooted in the relationship between the client and therapist – this is the foundation for all therapeutic work, and it needs to be strong and solid. It is wise to reach out to a few providers and meet with them virtually before deciding. Most providers are willing to talk before working together, to determine if they are a good fit for your needs – take advantage of this! You need to be able to trust your therapist and paying attention to how you feel during this initial conversation is important. Making sure that the therapist you select has expertise in treating your specific concerns is also important, so don’t be shy about asking questions regarding their expertise.
There are also practical concerns in choosing a therapist, such as insurance coverage or hours of availability. It might help to write down these requirements and include them when you initially contact providers, so you can quickly determine if working together is possible.
Ultimately, selecting a therapist to see in a virtual setting is no different from selecting a therapist to see face-to-face. Choose someone who makes you feel comfortable, someone you can envision opening up to, and someone that has experience helping people with similar issues.
What equipment do I need?
All you need is a device that runs Windows, Mac, Android or iOS with a built-in or external camera and microphone. In addition, headphones are recommended for the best audio experience. For more details, view our Minimum System Requirements. (make this a link to the FAQ for minimum system requirements)

The VTConnect telehealth platform utilizes secure end to end encrypted communication to ensure the privacy of your data and communications during sessions. Secure data storage is utilized to keep your protected health information safe. Our regular monitoring and audits ensure our platform continues to meet HIPAA Security Standards.
